Multi-car crash in Greenville claims 1 life, injures others

Even when driving carefully and following the rules of the road, motorists can still become involved in accidents due to the negligent or reckless actions of other drivers. When drivers are in a hurry to get to their destinations, they can cause horrendous accidents that cause serious injuries or claim the lives of others. Such seems to be the case in a recent motor vehicle accident in Greenville.

Accident details

Around 7:25 a.m. on Wed. Feb. 2, a 20-year-old man was in his SUV driving along Anderson Road when the SUV was struck head-on by another vehicle, a pickup, heading in the opposite direction. The suspect vehicle had apparently attempted to pass another vehicle in front of it on the road, leading to the collision. The suspect vehicle then collided with the vehicle it had attempted to pass.

In the resulting accident, the 20-year-old SUV driver was declared dead at the scene. Both the driver of the pickup and the driver of the sedan suffered injuries and were taken to a local medical center. The accident remains under investigation.

Should the evidence suggest the man driving the pickup was indeed acting recklessly behind the wheel, the surviving members of the 20-year-old deceased man can pursue a wrongful death claim against him. Likewise, those injured in the crash can pursue a personal injury claim against the alleged at-fault driver in an attempt to recover damages. By working with an experienced personal injury attorney, affected parties can increase their chances of obtaining the favorable outcomes they expect and deserve.
