Car crash in Wellford claims 3 lives, including young girl

A two-car crash recently occurred in Spartanburg County. Sadly, the South Carolina wreck caused the deaths of three people, including a mother and her young daughter. Ostensibly, the other driver involved was also killed in the accident. Now, a community and two families are mourning the tragic loss of their loved ones.

Accident details

The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m. on April 19. A 34-year-old woman was killed in the crash as were a 30-year-old mother and her 6-year-old daughter. The crash happened at the intersection of Tucapaua Road and Greenville Highway.

Members of the Wellford Police Department are continuing to investigate the accident. The report did not offer any specifics as to who caused the crash, but authorities are retrieving data from the vehicles’ computers to try and get more information about what the cars were doing mechanically just before the wreck. The deceased mother worked as a teaching assistant at Wellford Academy, where her daughter was a student.

While the report did not offer specifics about the cause of the crash or which driver may have been at fault, information obtained from the cars’ computers as well as accident reconstructions and other methods may reveal a clearer picture of what happened. Since both drivers died in this crash, any civil claims from either side will name the decedent’s estate as well as anyone else with ownership in the vehicle the deceased was driving. Surviving family members have ever right to work closely with an experienced personal injury attorney in South Carolina to help them obtain the best outcome possible.
