Greenville County car crash claims life of teenager
Two-lane roads in South Carolina and elsewhere provide a high level of risk for a potential head-on collision. Since opposing traffic is traveling in such close proximity, it only takes a moment of distraction for a terrible accident to occur. Sadly, one head-on collision in Greenville County recently claimed the life of a teenager.
Accident details
According to reports, a two-vehicle accident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on the morning of May 1. The crash happened on Augusta Road. Reportedly, a 2008 Kia SUV was traveling north as a 2002 Honda Civic was heading south.
For reasons unknown, the Civic crossed the center line and collided with the Kia. The impact killed the 17-year-old male driving the Honda Civic, who was identified as being a junior at a local high school. No word was given as to the injuries, if any, the Kia driver suffered.
Legal recourse
If the driver of the Kia suffered serious injuries in this head-on collision, he or she retains the right to pursue a civil claim against the Civic driver plus anyone else who has ownership interest in his car. Since the driver died at the scene, his estate can be named in a personal injury claim. The Kia driver will want to work closely with an experienced personal injury attorney in South Carolina to gain a full understanding of his or her rights and options with regardsto seeking compensation.
